Auburn University is a comprehensive land, sea and space-grant university. The International Center for Aquaculture and Aquatic Environments (ICAAE) is a function of the School of Fisheries, Aquaculture, and Aquatic Sciences. With its research, teaching and international development assistance efforts, ICAAE has had tremendous influence on fisheries and aquaculture programs throughout the world. Over one-third of the students who have completed advanced degrees in Fisheries from Auburn University have been from developing countries, and many other international students have received either a B.S. degree or non-degree training. These students are providing the leadership for the development of aquaculture and fisheries in the developing countries. Presently, the School of Fisheries, Aquaculture, and Aquatic Sciences has academic exchange agreements with several institutions including the Ocean University of China.
